Jan 29, 2012 · My Taurus pt945. The only close replacement I can think of for the Taurus PT945 would be the Taurus PT38s. Same pistol but in the 38Super round. Of course if you wanted to go 9mm then the Taurus PT909 would fit the bill. But, in the end even with the PT945 being few and far between the two others are even more so. Although I would have preferred the all Blue or Stainless version (I have the 'ghetto gold'), I got this one for a song and a dance. I traded my MINT condition PT145 for it and I was only into the PT145 for $280.Get them while you can. As one of the other staff noted the PT945 is due for being discontinued in the very near future. The 800 series is replacing the 900 series eventually. As quoted it seems that when a gun series is stopped that Taurus keeps parts around for about for 8 years and then the gun parts places like Numerich get the parts.Thoughts on PT 940.
